Electric fire places give off heat in the room but no exhaust in the wall. Most TVs have a heat-sync barrier along the bottom protecting the unit from overheating.

We can easily mount TVs above gas fireplaces. Unlike electric fireplaces, these usually have exhausts that have to be avoided. This only affects specific units like the Frame TV when equipment is in-wall. Typically there's a high success rate.
